7v7 Football with the Midwest Raiders

7v7 football has long been a staple of the sport, often referred to as “backyard football” due to its fast-paced, fun, and accessible format. Over the past decade, however, it has evolved into a dynamic and highly competitive game that has gained national and even global popularity. With leagues forming across the country and teams made up of both local and national talent, 7v7 has become an exciting opportunity for young athletes to continue playing the game they love year-round.

This non-contact, pass-focused format is ideal for players looking to develop their skills during the off-season. Many athletes who participate in fall tackle football join 7v7 leagues in the winter and spring to sharpen their technique, improve their game IQ, and stay active in a fun and competitive environment.

In 2025, the Midwest Raiders, in partnership with G7, proudly launched our first annual spring 7v7 season. With over 90 athletes from surrounding communities participating, the program has been a great success. Designed to complement, not compete with, primary spring sports, our 7v7 league offers a flexible schedule that allows athletes to prioritize their main commitments while still enjoying the benefits of off-season football.

Looking ahead, the Midwest Raiders are committed to growing this program, expanding it beyond our local area, and continuing to provide a high-quality football experience for young athletes.

Registration for the 2026 spring season will open in winter 2025, and we look forward to welcoming even more players to be a part of this exciting and evolving part of our program.
