Junior Coach Application
We are currently looking for passionate and dedicated junior coaches to join our program—and we’re seeking more than just cheerleading experience. We’re looking for individuals who can be strong role models for our young athletes.
Our ideal coaches are someone who leads with kindness, integrity, and patience. Junior coaches play a critical role in shaping the confidence, teamwork, and personal growth of our youngest team members. If you are someone who communicates positively, encourages effort and respect, and truly enjoys helping kids learn and grow, we would love to hear from you.
Prior coaching or cheer experience is helpful, but not required—we value attitude, character, and a willingness to lead by example above all.
Head Coach & Assistant Coach Application
A strong cheerleading coach possesses several key characteristics that help them build a successful, motivated team while fostering an environment of growth and teamwork. Some of these characteristics include:
1. Leadership Skills: A strong coach leads by example, demonstrating confidence, respect, and integrity. They inspire the team with a positive attitude and clear vision of success.
2. Communication: Effective communication is crucial for explaining techniques, strategies, and expectations. A good coach listens to their athletes, provides constructive feedback, and encourages open communication.
3. Knowledge of the Sport: An understanding of cheerleading techniques, stunts, choreography, and safety protocols is essential. A strong coach keeps up with new trends and skills to ensure the team is constantly improving.
4. Patience and Understanding: Every athlete progresses at their own pace. A good coach is patient and understanding, helping athletes build confidence and overcome challenges without rushing them.
5. Organization: Cheerleading involves coordination, practice schedules, and event planning. A strong coach is highly organized, ensuring that practices run efficiently, safety is prioritized, and goals are clearly set.
6. Motivational Skills: A great coach knows how to inspire their team to stay focused, work hard, and keep a positive mindset, especially during tough practices or competitions. They know how to push athletes without causing burnout.
7. Adaptability: No two athletes are the same, and no two seasons are identical. A strong coach can adapt their approach based on the needs of their team, addressing individual strengths and weaknesses.
8. Team Building: Cheerleading is a team sport, so a good coach fosters camaraderie and unity among athletes. They promote teamwork, trust, and mutual respect, ensuring that athletes support each other both on and off the mat.
9. Safety Awareness: Safety is paramount in cheerleading, especially with stunts and tumbling. A strong coach puts safety protocols in place and ensures athletes are practicing in a safe environment.
10. Passion and Enthusiasm: Passion for cheerleading is contagious. A great coach has a genuine love for the sport and motivates their team through their energy and enthusiasm, creating a fun and driven environment.
11. Collaboration with Other Coaches: A great cheerleading coach recognizes the value of working alongside other coaches, whether within the same team or across different teams. They understand that collaboration fosters a community of shared knowledge, resources, and support. This could involve co-coaching on skills or drills, discussing strategies for improving team performance, or coordinating efforts for events and competitions. A strong coach is open to learning from others, sharing insights, and helping foster a supportive coaching network that ultimately benefits the athletes and the program as a whole.
A good cheerleading coach will not only teach skills but also help athletes develop life skills like discipline, confidence, and teamwork.
