Our History

The Midwest Raiders, originally known as the Bartlett Raiders, have proudly served our community since 1973—recently celebrating over 50 years of excellence in the Bill GeorgeYouth Football League (BGYFL). We are honored to be the league’s longest-standing tenured organization, with a deep tradition of success and leadership in youth football and cheer.

Our Mission

Since day one, our mission has been clear: to build strong athletes, unite families, and serve our community through the power of sports. We focus on developing not just players, but confident, disciplined, and respectful young individuals — on and off the field.

Our Cheer Program

Cheer is an essential part of the Midwest Raiders family, and we are proud members of the Illinois Cheerleading Association (ICA) one of the premier youth cheer organizations in thestate. Our cheerleaders don’t just support from the sidelines—they are athletes in their own right, competing at a high level and building lifelong skills in teamwork, discipline, and confidence. With a strong focus on technique, sportsmanship, and spirit, our program offers a chance to grow in a structured and empowering environment. Whether it’s cheering on game day or competing at ICA competitions, our squads bring the energy, pride, and Raider spirit everywhere they go.

Growth Through Community

In recent years, the Raiders have grown rapidly, welcoming athletes from across nearby towns. When other programs faced challenges, we stepped in—most notably partnering with the Hanover Hurricanes—to ensure every child had the opportunity to play and cheer in a stable, supportive environment. In 2024 the Hanover Park Hurricanes merged into the Bartlett Raiders. This growth led to the formation of the Midwest Raiders in 2025. Today, we proudly serve families from Bartlett, Hanover Park, Streamwood, West Chicago, Elgin, and South Elgin and other surrounding towns.

Community Impact & Recognition

Our dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. We were recently honored with a major grant from the Retired Professional Football Players of Chicago in recognition of our commitment to youth development and community service.

One of our proudest accomplishments: raising over $40,000 in scholarships to ensure every child can play the game they love—regardless of financial circumstances.

Raiders Hall of Fame & Awards

The Raiders Hall of Fame Award honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Raiders organization through years of dedication, leadership, and excellence. Inductees represent the highest standards of commitment, sportsmanship, and contribution both on and off the field. This prestigious award celebrates those whose legacy continues to inspire future generations within the Raiders family.
